How to Ship Fragile Items

Most breakages are preventable. These steps cover how to prepare fragile goods for a courier journey.

Step by step

  1. Step 1

    Pick a strong box

    Select a sturdy double-walled box with 5–7 cm of space around the item for cushioning.

  2. Step 2

    Wrap and cushion

    Wrap the item individually in bubble wrap, then fill gaps with paper or foam so nothing can move.

  3. Step 3

    Seal and label

    Seal all seams with strong tape and label the parcel as fragile with 'this way up' arrows.

  4. Step 4

    Insure and book direct

    Add cover for the declared value and book a direct courier so the parcel isn't passed through a sorting hub.
